LINK BETWEEN STRESS AND GUT BACTERIA
It is shown by scientist for the first time there is a link between stress and gut bacteria .Research shows that in a mouse a gut bacteria plays a major role in causing stress or anxiety like behaviour. And research also proves that the gut bacteria can affect so many aspects of your health, but this research mainly performed on healthy mice. Mc Master University wants to know about is there any link between stress and gut bacteria and the result what they made is even published in nature communications. For 3 to more than twenty days baby mice were stressed by being separated 3 hours each day from their mother.
Same experiment was conducted to some other mice that had different gut bacterial condition. After this one group is absolutely grown free of bacteria in their guts and kept them into a aseptic room to prevent to affecting the behaviour of bacteria. And on the other hand the other group of mice are regular mice which are being exposed in an ordinary and complex range of bacteria. And the last group of mice was a germ free control group those are not separated from their mothers.In baby mice those having normal gut bacteria is showed very un believable and unusual increase in the stress hormone corticosterone. There are also shown a sign of stress and anxiety. And on the other hand the germ free mice very similar to control mice having no sign of anxiety and stress. But most important thing about these mice that there are also increase in level of stress hormone corticosterone but same hand there is no such symptoms of depression and very natural to no change in control group showing no change in stress hormones or any change in behaviour. Then these results have been shown that the bacteria in the environment are very much responsible in contributing to behaviour which is associated with depression and anxiety. After that next day they allow the germ free mice to bacteria which are taken from the stressed group. Bacterial composition of germ free mice has been changed as well as their behaviour and metabolic activities. And then after a few weeks later the free mice now starting to show signs of depression.
And finally scientists want to see if controlled group were exposed to bacteria from the stressed mice then how the controlled group mice reacts and in the situation like this mice did not show any symptoms of any means of depression. Then after this Mr.Premysl bercik one of the lead author of McMaster University, conclude about this research that the stress shortly in a mice after birth and in later in his life micro biome which is associated with depression results into a depression later in life.
- It is consider as more interesting because this relationship also affects the humans and also it will become a helpful research regarding to direction of depression and anxiety. And Bercik also told about the next stage of his entire team is to gather human data.
- For speaking it with confidently about the fact those bacteria are really effects the feeling of depression as well feeling of anxiety we need some human data .Still the data are not sufficient to make any future step but hope in future if our scientist succeed in obtaining any positive human data about the effect of gut bacteria and their link between stress and anxiety then it definitely likely for those percentage of people having psychiatric problems this research and this micro biota definitely going to be playing an very important role.
